Villa hammer Oldham with the returning Bruce Rioch in the ascendancy as Andy Lochhead hits Villaโs first hat-trick since Tony Hateley hit four against Spurs in March 1966. As a result Villa climb back to joint third in the table with Swansea, two points behind Notts County and are now just three behind leaders Bournemouth.
Vic Crowe's Villa record their biggest win of the season and Villa's biggest win since April 1962 when Villa beat Leicester 8-3 and Villa's biggest win away from home since January 1932 when Villa hit the same scoreline against the same opposition. As a result Villa make it eleven wins, two draws and five defeats in division three so far this campaign.
