Joe Mercerโs Villa gain speedy revenge over the side that knocked them out of the League Cup the previous month as they hammer Ipswich - a side that, come season end, would win their first League title. As a result Villa make it three successive League wins and a fourth in five matches to make it nine wins, four draws and seven defeats in twenty Division One games this season.
Villa make it three wins from three and move to 7th in the table as they partially avenge their undeserved defeat to Ipswich in the League Cup a couple of games before. Once again it's the returning Derek Dougan who inspires Villa to a dominant performance and another well deserved two points.
