Player #483 for Aston Villa, James Wilson McMorran, known as Jimmy McMorran, played as a forward for the club.
Jimmy played for Villa in 1960-61 and 1961-62 making 14 appearances, scoring once.
Jimmy was born in Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland on 29 October 1942 and made his debut appearance for Villa on Monday, 3 April 1961 aged just 18.
Villa had signed Jimmy from Ayr Schools in June 1958 and he signed professional forms with the club in October 1959.
Jimmy made two appearances as Villa finished 9th in their return to Division One but didn’t feature in Villa’s run to the League Cup final in 1960-61 and didn’t play in either leg of the final against Rotherham United that was held over to the 1961-62 season due to fixture congestion.
Jimmy appeared in all three competitions for Villa the following season - League, FA Cup, League Cup - but played his final game for Villa on Saturday, 24 March 1962 aged 19 before moving on to Third Lanark in February 1963.
Jimmy had played under manager Joe Mercer.
