Joe Mercerโs Villa return to League action to lose to Blackburn and make it two wins, one draw and three defeats in six Division One games this season as the season gets off to a stuttering start.
Meanwhile, full back Stan Lynn made his final Villa appearance aged 33 before making the sad trip to Birmingham City in October 1961. Lynn played for Villa between 1950-51 and 1961-62 making 323 appearances and scoring 38 goals.
