Billy Smith names an unchanged line up.
Villa are forced to surrender their unbeaten home record through circumstances after six wins in seven games after an astonishing defeat to fourth placed Derby as Villa's season seems to have completely unravelled over the last eight games.
Villa have won just three over that period, losing four, with most of their setbacks coming away from home until this ridiculous defeat to Derby.
Villa are reduced to 10 men in the first minute due to Joe Beresford's injury, before goalkeeper Fred Biddlestone is injured and Villa are reduced to 9 all in the first 3 minutes.
Villa concede two with firstly Biddlestone incapacitated and then with Billy Walker, Villa's centre forward, in goal.
Biddlestone and Beresford return after three minutes and six minutes respectively by which time Villa are two down.
Jack Mandley is fouled in the box and a penalty is awarded before Eric Houghton misses and scores from the rebound but referee Bunnell has other ideas and orders a retake from which Houghton scores. 1-2 after 9 minutes.
Fred Biddlestone is fouled again and is forced to leave the field of play permanently after 15 minutes as Villa are reduced to 10 men with Billy Walker again taking over goalkeeping duties.
Derby score their third of the game before Villa through Alec Talbot pull a goal back just before half time as the ten men of Villa without a goalkeeper go in 2-3 in arrears at the interval.
The second half sees Villa astonishingly equalise before two in two minutes put Derby 3-5 ahead against the run of play and against a centre forward in goal.
Derby add a sixth before Pongo Waring adds Villa's fourth.
At the final whistle Derby are booed from the field of play in a manner rarely seen.
Despite the defeat Villa score four or more for the sixth time in 15 games this season, having scored five once and six twice but is not enough to overcome the six goals conceded.
As a result Villa now have two clean sheets in fifteen games and are without one in 9 games.
Pongo Waring scores his TWENTY FIRST goal in fIfteen as Eric Houghton scores a brace.
Villa make it eight wins, three draws and four defeats in their fifteen division one games
Villa have now scored FORTY TWO goals in 15 games
Villa score four or more for the sixth time in 15 games this season, having scored five once and six twice.
Despite scoring the same number of goals as leaders Arsenal, Villa find themselves down in fifth place, five point off top spot.
Villa deserved so much more.
