On This Day
Villa look on course for another crushing Villa Park victory as they lead lowly Leicester 4-1 but the Mark Draper inspired foxes fight back to draw 4-4 and make it seven wins and four draws in twelve Premier League games under Brian Little.
Another high-scoring game at Villa Park following the annihilation of Wimbledon last time out and another 8 goals scored yet the points are shared as Villa let a 4-1 lead slip.
A cruising Villa side throw away a three goal lead and allow Leicester to equalise in the final minute, happily the key player in the Leicester side, midfielder Mark Draper, would, by the start of the following season, be lining up in a Villa shirt.
Winger Franz Carr, 28, makes his Villa debut as an 88โ substitute after joining from Leicester City earlier this month for a fee of ยฃ250,000.
Former Villa โkeeper Kevin Poole and midfielder Garry Parker line up for Leicester as future Villa defender Simon Grayson also featured.

Mark McGheeโs down and out Leicester City climbed off the canvas last night to snatch a sensation draw against Aston Villa.
Rock bottom city, totally dominated for most of the match and trailing 4-1 with 25 minutes to go, grabbed a stunning injury time leveller through substitute David Lowe that left Villa boss Brian Little absolutely stunned against his old side.
Dean Saunders struck his 18th goal of the season after only six minutes, to spark what looked like becoming a Villa goal-fest, and Steve Staunton capped a brilliant move to claim their second.
Dwight Yorke increased Villaโs lead after 59 minutes, and although Mark Robins narrowed the gap moments later, Tommy Johnsonโs 25 heard lob put Villa firmly in command again after 65 minutes.
Leicester were left chasing shadows, but almost unbelievably, the roof fell in on Villa. Iwan Roberts headed their second in the 77th minutes then three minutes later, Lowe pounced when Mark Bosnich could only parry former Villa star Garry Parkerโs shot.
And no wonder Leicesterโs players danced in delight as Lowe bent to bounce his header past the groping Bosnich in the closing seconds.
