"Mark Bosnich was beaten by Cole in the 17th minute but minutes later United had to thank Schmeichel and Pallister for keeping them in front as they blocked shots from Andy Townsend and then lan Taylor."
*The Sunday World*
Sunday, 5 February 1995
Mark Bosnich was beaten by Cole in the 17th minute but minutes later United had to thank Schmeichel and Pallister for keeping them in front as they blocked shots from Andy Townsend and then lan Taylor.
Later a cross from Cole caused mayhem in the Villa box, Mark Bosnich managed only to palm it away and lee Sharpe rattled the rebound off the post from only six yards, little wonder the visiting fans sang "Lee Sharpe is a Villa fan.”
Villa's problems were compounded just before the break when John Fashanu was stretchered off after a collision with Ryan Giggs.
