Villa lose for the first time in nine as they are beaten by Wolves but that is barely the story.
Albert J Brown is injured as is Joe Rutherford after 40 minutes, both are forced to retire from the field of play to leave Villa with 9 men and Harry Parkes in goal.
Rutherford suffers a dislocated finger and does not return in goal but does take a place in the outfield vacated by... Albert J Brown who had recovered sufficiently from his own injury to take Parkes' place in goal.
Despite this Villa manage to equalise but are undone by a 68' winner despte Brown's best efforts.
Villa fall back to joint 5th.
