Villa record successive wins for the second time this season as they beat Portsmouth - level on points with Alex Massie's side at the start of play - at Fratton Park.
Vills do it the hard way however - going 0-2 behind in 22 minutes with the second goal a horrendous blunder from Joe Rutherford, but two goals in 6' from Albert J Brown and a penalty from Trevor Ford bring Villa level just on half time.
Villa took the lead for the first time in the 54' as Albert J Brown and George Edwards combined again before Trevor Ford also grabbed his second of the game after good work from Jackie Martin.
Villa climb to joint 6th level on points with Wolves and Charlton.
