Stewards and police soon brought order and subdued the dramatic ending to a nerve-wracked semi-final. Bruce Rioch's hopes of beginning a new era for the Gunners with a trophy in his first season rested on this second leg. But he chose to stifle the life out of a tie that was so vibrant at Hlghbury a week ago when Dennis Bergkamp had his side two goals ahead inside the first half-hour.
