After their recent victories the Wanderers met the Villa at Molineux Grounds, and the meeting created interest, 20,000 persons being present. Both teams were strongly represented. The Wanderers faced the sun and scored through Tonks in the first quarter of an hour. Five minutes later the Wanderers added a second goal through a penalty. A third goal by Harper was added after 30 minutes’ play. Half-time:— Wanderers, 3 goals ; Villa, 0. The Villa players showed none of their true form, and were hopelessly outplayed. The Wanderers played a brilliant game, and Worton adding another goal the home team won in easy fashion. Result:— Wolverhampton Wanderers, 4 goals; Aston Villa. 0.
