Walter Leigh
Player #135 for Aston Villa, Walter Herbert Leigh, nicknamed Swappy played as a centre forward for the club.
Walter played just once for Villa, during the 1898-99 season.
Walter was born in Yardley, just 7 miles from Villa Park, on 12th November 1874 and made his sole appearance for the club as a 21 year old on the 15th April 1899.
Villa had signed Walter from Calishead Amateurs and made his sole appearance for Villa in the 1898-99 League title win.
Walter then moved to Altrincham on 1st July 1899.
Walter played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Walter passed away in 1938 aged 64.
