Vic Crowe's ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ Villa lose out to top flight side Everton in the third round of the FA Cup.
Following the criticism of the chastening defeat to second division leaders Burnley last time out, Vic Crowe ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ rings the changes for the FA Cup tie with first division Everton.
Midfielder Jimmy Brown ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ and forward Brian Little ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ, teenagers both, shine, but Villa are beaten as the oft fallible goalkeeper Jimmy Cumbes ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ errs again.
Willie Anderson ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ 25 makes his final appearance in a Villa shirt before moving on to Cardiff City for a fee of ยฃ60,000 in February 1973. Willie had played for Villa between 1966-67 and 1972-73 making 266 appearances and scoring 44 goals after arriving from Manchester United for ยฃ20,000 aged 20 in January 1967.
Forward Brian Little ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ suffers ๐ฅ defeat for the first time in a Villa shirt on his ๐ 8th appearance.
