Despite warnings that they were voting for Ellis Villa over Aston Villa and concerns that power and money were at the root of his ambitions rather than the love and best interests of Aston Villa, Herbert Douglas Ellis, is re-elected as Chairman.
On the pitch Villa score against the run of play in a first half where complacency and error led to some of the worst football produced by the side under Vic Crowe. The second 45’ brought improvement, and another goal but despite climbing back to second this was Villa’s least convincing win of the season, indeed it was just as unconvincing as the calls for unity from the rogue Chairman.
