Vic Crowe's Villa score an early goal for the second successive match to make it two wins in a row as they make it ten wins, seven draws and four defeats in twenty one League games.
Meanwhile, Midfielder Malcolm Beard made his first start in 14 months in what would prove to be his final Villa appearance before moving on to Atherstone United. Malcolm played for Villa between 1971-72 and 1972-73 making 7 appearances.
