Villa miss a boat load of chances and find themselves two down after half an hour but the pressure eventually tells as they respond with three goals to look odds on for the next round.
Stoke equalise in the dying minutes however to force an extra time that, though dominated by Eric Houghton's men, doesn't reward Villa with a deserved winner. A third game, at Molineux, is required.
