Eric Houghton's Villa lose three successive games and have now conceded twelve goals in the last three matches to make it three wins, two draws and eight defeats in thirteen division one games this season.
Meanwhile, Jackie Hinchliffe made his second and final appearance for Villa aged 19 before moving to Workington in June 1958; whilst full back Roy Pritchard made his final Villa appearance aged 32 before moving to Notts County in November 1958. Pritchard played for Villa between 1955-56 and 1957-58 making three appearances.
