George Ashfield

George played for Villa between 1955-56 and 1957-58 making 10 appearances.
George was born in Manchester on 7 April 1934 and made his debut appearance for Villa on Saturday, 21 January 1956 aged 21.
Villa had signed George from Stockport County in March 1954.
Only in his final season with Villa did George would feature more than once - making 9 appearances in 1957-58 as Villa finished 14th and exited the FA Cup in the 3rd Round.
George had played his Villa career under manager Eric Houghton and his final game came on Saturday, 18 January 1958 aged just 23 before he moved on to Chester in February 1959.
George passed away in Chester in March 1985 aged just 50.
