What they Said
**What has been your favourite win this season?**
"Two of May. Today, two of May. We are very, very excited. Our motivation is also a high motivation to finish the season. Really, we are feeling this is our moment to play, showing as well as our capacity through the most important way for this season to get our objective, Premier League.
"Villa Park is very, very important. We will need our supporters, our fans to be with us tomorrow because we were during this year enjoying different competitions, Champions League, FA Cup, but the Premier League is the consistent way to achieve our objective.
"We have to be together tomorrow. We have to get our best energy through our supporters, transmit them as well our energy and try to play with consistency like we are playing in Villa Park. Tomorrow we will need them."
**Since you've been here, no player has played more Premier League games than Ollie Watkins. What makes him a model professional?**
"He's a fantastic guy. A fantastic guy. And really as a player we can watch how his commitment is with Aston Villa, with myself, with the teammates and the coaches we have.
"I only want him to do his best as a professional. I really appreciate him as a person. I appreciate him and I am so grateful to work with him. But our work is to try to show every match we are playing, our capacity, our commitment, our wishes, our strong mentality.
"These issues we are trying to improve. The mentality is a test in every match. It's our mentality how we are facing tomorrow against Fulham. How we are tomorrow preparing for the game and focusing 90 minutes strongly."
**Is Fulham a 'must win'?**
"Every match is important to win. Day one, day 30 and day 35 tomorrow. We have to be consistent, trying to get our best in the challenge we have.
"Tomorrow how we can respect them, how we can adapt to them, how we can impose, dominate our game plan through our positioning, through our player skills and our wishes. And still four matches to play. Tomorrow we will play three points.
"Our moment now in the Premier League is the objective we were dreaming about two years ago. We were setting an objective this year, but have always been ambitious to be in Europe, to be in Europe, to play in the Conference League, to play in the Europa League, to play in the Champions League.
"How we are sharing our season with our supporters, with our fans, in everything is really, really amazing how we are doing. Tomorrow we have to get there, smiling, focused and together."
**Is there a desire to put things right after the Palace defeat?**
"Two years ago we finished the season so, so strong. We wanted to play more matches after we finished against Brighton at home and winning and getting in the Conference League.
"We were ready to play more matches and we didn't want holidays in that moment! Last year we finished so, so tired. We got the objective of playing in the Champions League and the last match we played against Crystal Palace away, we were thinking more about holidays than the match we played.
"This year we are so, so motivated and excited to play. I want to train, I want to prepare for the game, I want to be with the players tonight in the hotel, I want to wake up tomorrow with the players preparing the game.
"I want to play 90 minutes, I want to be excited and motivated with our supporters in Villa Park and I want to play the next match as well after tomorrow's match."
**Is there an update on Rashford?**
“He is still weeks [away] to be available. Hopefully, he will play with us one or two matches."
**What have you made of Fulham?**
“Premier League, historic club, Fulham. Very good coach, very competitive coach – in the Premier League, a successful coach.
“Very good players, very organised team, very competitive team with the numbers they have, and my respect is massive.
“Then, how we are competing as well, trying to be consistent tomorrow, but we have to respect them and adapt of them being competitive like we are.
“I know their numbers, their objectives to be in Europe. When I arrived here two years ago, they were as well competing with us. Last year they were competing to be in Europe, this year they are competing to be in Europe. It’s not a surprise they are.
“They are a team (who) can get the same way they are doing this year like Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth.
“They are teams, they can be with us, of course, and with the teams, contenders to be in the top six. Fulham is a team, really competitive, and with a clear identity with Marco Silva."
**Will Rashford be at Villa next season?**
“Tomorrow is Fulham. We don’t want to finish the season - we want to play.
“Hopefully, he can help us. He is recovering with us here. I want to see him happy. Then we will speak about it.”
**What do you make of the Spurs' request to move the game forward later this month?**
"It doesn't matter for me, I want the best for Tottenham in Europe, but I want to focus on our matches. We are playing them in two weeks, but the Fulham match tomorrow and Bournemouth next week. It doesn't matter for me the day of the match."
**Should the Premier League give chances for their teams in Europe?**
"We are going to play the game in the date in they will fix."
Unai Emery, pre-match.
"I really believe it's a big game for Aston Villa too. It's an amazing place to play football, a great environment to be in. The pressure from the Villa supporters is going to be big.
"We really love to play in these types of games, and we need to show our quality."
Fulham manager Marco Silva, pre-match.
"We have to respect them and adapt to them. When I arrived here two years ago they were competing to be in Europe and they are a team that can get to the same heights as Nottingham Forest. They are a contender to be in the top six."
Unai Emery, pre-match.
“We’re so focused to try to get Europe. Europe is the highest ambition we can dream of, and to play Champions League again.
“We’re in this run, but we’re not favourites – the teams in front of us are. If we win today, we can have more options to play Champions League.
“We need to get the energy [from the supporters here]. They are feeling us. They help us. We’re in our fortress."
“We only have one unavailable player, that’s Marcus Rashford. I’m focusing on the players in the starting XI.”
Unai Emery, pre-match.
All our games, we know we have to win them to have a chance to be in the Champions League next season.
"This afternoon was a good win. A tough opponent, Fulham are a very good team. We could have finished the game earlier, but credit to the guys. Good fight and good win.
"It is just getting in the good place at a good moment - we practiced this comer kick in training and it went well.
"Sometimes it is a bit of luck [not getting injured].
"I've tried to take care of my body and just play the games and enjoy my football.
"To have a better good difference for us is key towards the end now. We need to improve on that definitely.
"It is the biggest European competition club wise. We have had a taste this season and we want to do it again."
Youri Tielemans, post-match.
"I didn't know it was creeping up. Someone told me before the game. Quite nice. Didn't ever think I would make one Premier League appearance, so 200 is brilliant."
John McGinn on making 200 Premier League appearances.
"He’s getting better and better and for me, he’s our best player by a mile this season."
John McGinn on Youri Tielemans.
"A massive three points. It keeps us in the hunt for the Champions League spots. As you get older you start to appreciate it a bit more. You want to achieve as much as possible. Last week was a huge setback, but we keep going."
John McGinn post-match.
