“Aston Villa plays very good football.

“We're going to see two teams with their own characteristics. I hope we see an open and complex match.

“Aston Villa is capable of coming out from the back, capable of managing space well, and they have the ability to attack with second-row players.

“This will require excellent defensive skills and great defensive efficiency from us. It doesn't matter if a player is higher or lower; it doesn't worry me.

“I would say this team is similar to ours in that they have a lot of versatile players. It's difficult to know who will play, especially since they strengthened so much this winter.

“They have different playing styles. It's a very open and difficult double header for both teams.

“I think it's 50-50. Against Liverpool, everyone said we had no chance. There are two teams that can move up to the next level. We'll have to do what it takes to qualify.

“Probably a strange one because you can never predict in advance that you are going to face your own team, really. He has been brilliant since he has came in. He has worked really hard and you can see that on the pitch.

“He makes efforts for the team defensively. Offensively, you can just see his class whenever he touches the ball.

“I remember his first cameo at Villa Park, he was brilliant and glided through the midfielders who he came up against. I like him a lot because he works very hard for the team and takes responsibility with the ball.

“He tries to pick up spaces which is really good for me, so I can find him in forward areas. Off the pitch, he is a really calm, good guy and works hard.

“Probably, because when you look at him, you don’t think he is a hard worker in that sense where he is more so a ball-player.

“Off the ball he does his job really good and that’s what we need from every player.

“He has been working really hard on the pitch, off the pitch. He has fitted into the team really well and in the system. It suits him to play as the number 10 off the striker. It allows him to be free around the striker, so we can find him between the lines.”

"Based on the way they beat Liverpool with fantastic football, now, with Real Madrid, with Barcelona, PSG are favourites in the Champions League.

"Aston Villa is a historic club in the world and they won the European Cup in 1982. When I arrived here I knew this history. My challenge was to be contending for trophies, to play in Europe again, and to play Champions League is amazing. To keep it consistent is my next challenge.

"To play a Champions League quarter-final in Paris is something really special and amazing for everybody who is involved with Aston Villa but something we want to be consistently doing. We have to respond to everything they do tactically and it is a huge challenge for me.

"He [Emiliano Martinez] is mature and he is responsible. He is getting better at controlling his emotions. When he arrived at Aston Villa to now it is a different Emi Martinez. He is a better player, better goalkeeper, and now my conversation with him is to always focus on football.

"He [Luis Enrique] is one of the best coaches in the world. I faced him a lot of times and always it is difficult tactically. He is very demanding with how he is creating and building his team. They are very good in pressing and with the ball they are a team who keeps the ball and being so aggressive and intense in each action."

“It is not changing a lot because at 2-1 we were thinking for the next match playing to win. At 3-1, it is the same. We need to win the next match.

“We are here and enjoying ourselves. I am very proud of the players and of everything we are doing at Aston Villa. We are developing and increasing demands playing against PSG. We competed fantastically and were close to getting a good result. This goal at the end, we still need to win next week.

“The expectation before was going on during the match. The last goal is a little bit disappointing because it was in the last minute, but it doesn’t change our mind, our belief or our idea. We have to win the next match.

“Everything that happened on the pitch … OK. They have very intense players in the middle and quality on the wings. More or less, the result is in the way which could have happened.”

"It was difficult, they’re a really good team who are well organised. We knew were in a fight and a little bit of quality from them and a few errors that could have helped prevent the goals but that’s football.

"We’ve got another leg to turn it around, we’ll throw everything at them to win the tie. We’ll see where it takes us.

"We've got nothing to lose. No one had us to win. We have to just go for it. We've got the quality to turn this around. It's not done yet."

"A tough night. We knew coming here it was going to be tough. They dominated Liverpool and they were unlucky to lose [the first leg].

"I thought we defended the box really well, I thought at the end we were unfortunate and unlucky to concede. We have Villa Park next game - I think it will be a different game.

"The manager spoke in there and he said "it is only half-time". At home we are really strong. We are more than capable to score two or three goals at home. We will learn from it and we will move on.

"I love going out there and playing in the big games. We wanted to compete better and we wanted a better result. We have come a long way and it is only half-time - we are more than capable to go on and win the game

"We have got to respect them, they're probably favourite to win the tournament. At Villa Park we feel confident. It will be a different game. I look forward too it."
