Villa win for the first time in three Premier League games under Brian Little to beat Blackburn at Ewood Park and climb back to 5th in the table.
Forward Tommy Johnson, 26, scores his first goal in 12 Premier League games on what proves to be his 71st and final appearance in a Villa shirt (49 Starts) before moving on to Celtic later this month for a fee of ยฃ3,110,000. Johnson had played for Villa between 1994-95 and 1996-97 and recorded W29 D19 L23, 17 Goals, 4 Assists and 11 Bookings at a goal per game rate of one for every 4.18 games he played. Although a popular figure, Johnson just was not a regular scorer and went on long goalless runs throughout his 3 seasons with Villa - 12 games without a League goal in 1995, 9 in 1996 and 11 in 1997 until his goal on his final appearance.
