"Emile Heskey's cross was directed towards Nelson. But the Portuguese full-back sliced his clearance straight to Claridge, who took the easy chance to open the scoring from six yards."

*Sunday World*
Sunday, 17 November 1996

MUZZY IZZET completed Brian Little's tale of woe against his former club Leicester at Villa Park.

Steve Claridge gave Leicester a seventh minute lead in the Midlands derby courtesy of a dreadful error by Aston Villa defender Fernando Nelson.

Emile Heskey's cross was directed towards Nelson. But the Portuguese full-back sliced his clearance straight to Claridge, who took the easy chance to open the scoring from six yards.

But Villa needed only eight minutes to get back on level terms and it came courtesy of the back on song Dwight Yorke with his seventh goal in seven games.

However, in the 41st minute Leicester regained the lead via a controversial penalty, which was converted by former Villa midfielder Garry Parker.
