Villa manage to score as many goals in as they had managed in their previous eight games but still they cannot win as they make it 10 winless games in a row.
Johnny Dixon scores his 5th and 6th goals of the season but his first since August to put Villa two ahead in 16' but somehow Villa find themselves 2-4 behind after 54' and staring a fourth consecutive defeat in the face.
Villa had other ideas though as the hitherto failure of a signing Dave Hickson scored his first goal on 60' before Pat Saward on debut hit the equalising goal.
Eric Houghton's Villa end a run of three successive defeats.
