Player #438 for Aston Villa, Michael John Pinner, known as Mike Pinner, played as a goalkeeper for the club.

Mike played for Villa between 1954-55 and 1956-57 making 4 appearances.

Mike was born in Boston, Lincolnshire on 16 February 1934 and made his debut appearance for Villa on Saturday, 25 September 1954 aged 20.

Villa had signed Mike from Pegasus AFC in May 1954 but he was only to be used as a back up ‘keeper during his time with Villa.

Mike was the 53rd custodian of the Villa goal in League & Cup football.

Across his 4 games for the club, Mike conceded 9 goals at a rate of 2.25 goals per game.

Mike did however play in the Olympic Games in 1956 during his time with Villa - a feat he would repeat in 1960 after his departure from the club.

Mike played his final game for Villa on Tuesday, 23 April 1957 aged 23 before moving on to Arsenal in December 1957 and a nomadic career thereafter followed.

Mike had played under Villa manager Eric Houghton.
