It is successive league wins for Villa for only the second time this season and the first time since November.
Villa keep their third League clean sheet of the season and having claimed just one up to January 21st now have two in their last two.
Villa climb to 20th on 20 points, two points clear of the bottom two and with a game in hand on Everton four points ahead.
Winger Colin Gibson made his Villa debut aged 25 after joining from Newcastle United earlier this month for a fee of ยฃ17,500.
