Following Joe Rutherford's injury at Bolton which proved to be more serious than expected George Martin opts to select defender Con Martin as Villa goalkeeper.
Con had kept goal for 6 minutes at Bolton and had a run out in the Central League reserve game at Bury in the week as George Martin preferred the part time, novice 'keeper to promoting a reserve.
The decision, met with concern and bafflement from some, proved to be inspired as Martin made a series of strong saves as Villa raced into a 3-0 lead at half time.
Johnny Dixon scores two and creates one as Villa beat Derby and make it one win and one defeat so far this season.
