On This Day
Villa suffer shock defeat against lowly Huddersfield just two games after beating them at Villa Park. The Northeners end a run of six defeats as Villa blow the chance to take the outright lead at the top of the table.
It is Villa's first defeat in eight and first since the opening day of the season compounded by a stupid and avoidable own goal from the over confident Danny Blanchflower - not his first - but it shouldn't have happened as Villa hit the crossbar on no less than five occasions and hold all the attacking play.
