  • Villa's horrible run of results - if not performances - continue as they lose to fellow 7th placed side Tottentham. Yet again Villa more than hold their own before conceding goals in quick succession and it is a barely credible fourth successive defeat and fifth in six games.

  • With Con Martin injured and Joe Rutherford out of favour, goalkeeper Graham Cordell maakes his debut after joining from Walsall Star in September 1949.
