"We have had to suffer more than our fair share of criticism and we came to Upton Park and proved that we can play football.
"What pleased me most was that we conceded an early goal and had what I thought was a fair claim for a penalty turned down a minute later, but still responded to that situation in exactly the right way.
"There aren't too many teams who come here and give West Ham an early goal then end up feeling disappointed not to win."
