Billy McNeill's ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Villa lose to Southampton in the fourth round of the League Cup.
But it occurs following one of the worst refereeing performances of all time as the highly suspect David Axcell allows Mark Dennis to commit horrific fouls throughout the game without punishment before Villa have two players sent off for lesser offences and two legitimate goals chalked off.
On his ๐ 15th appearance, centre back Martin Keown ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ is ๐ฅ sent off for the first time in his Villa career.
Right Back Gary Williams ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ is ๐ฅ sent off for the second time in ๐ 5 appearances having not been sent off in his first ๐ 273 games in a Villa shirt.
