On This Day
Villa, denied two blatant penalties by referee Pat Partridge, have John Deehan 🏴 🟥 sent off in the final stages after two second half goals from Forest in 18 minutes dumps them out of the FA Cup.
Villa had appeared in the ascendancy before Forest’s opener and after Vic Anderson deliberately handled in the box, and Frank Clark committed a neck high tackle on Gordon Cowans 🏴 in the area a strong whiff of injustice for the Ron Saunders’ 🏴 injury hit squad bubbled ferociously in the background.
Centre forward John Deehan 🏴 is 🟥 sent off on his 🕒 119th appearance in a Villa shirt.
What they Said
“It would be foolish of me to make any comment now, and the reasons are obvious."
Ron Saunders.
