Vic Crowe's Villa, away from their League troubles, beat first division Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round replay.
Geoff Vowden made his final appearance for Villa aged 32 before moving on to Kettering Town later this year. Vowden played for Villa between 1970-71 and 1973-74 making 114 appearances and scoring 25 goals.
