Villa bounce back from a succession of disappointing performances and results to put Cardiff to the sword at Villa Park with two goals in the first ten minutes before running out 5-0 winners after a second half brace from Bruce Rioch. As a result of their biggest League win since May 1972, Villa make 8th place their own and are just one point off the third promotion slot.
Vic Crowe's Villa win for the first time in seven games to make it three wins, five draws and two defeats in ten League games this season to help them move up to 8th place (Played 10, Points 11) 2 points off Fulham in the promotion places (Played 10, Points 13)
