MATCHDAY QUOTES

“I shall be reporting them [Vic Crowe and Ron Wylie] for encroaching on the pitch when Morgan was sent off.”

Clive Thomas.

---

“If we are reported it can only be foe grabbing Morgan and pulling him off the pitch.”

Ron Wylie.

---

“I pass judgement on Thomas and find him guilty of worsening an explosive situation by his weak handling of the game.

“And I believe he was totally wrong to send off Morgan for kicking the ball as Arsenal ‘keeper Wilson dived to save.”

Sam Bartram, The Sunday People.

---

“I will appeal.

“It was a 50-50 ball and I think Wilson lost his cool.”

Sammy Morgan.

---

“Wilson made a meal of it.

“I will obviously want to see what the referee’s report says concerning this controversial FA Cup tie.

“But at this time I feel that we must appeal and fight against every decision that was given against us in this game.

“I don’t know about encroaching on the pitch.

“All Ron Wylie and I were trying to do was to get Sammy off the field as peaceably as possible to allow the game to continue.

“Neither Ron nor I said anything to the referee at that stage so I fail to see why he should report us to the FA for trying to cool everything.

“Morgan will definitely play against Arsenal on Wednesday.

“We will obviously appeal against his dismissal.

“And, I think we will appeal against all the cautions against us involving Cumbes, Evans and Morgan again.

“We have no alternative.

“If Wilson was concussed, how on earth did he manager to save Bruce Rioch’s 76th minute free kick and also Alun Evans’ follow up?

“Wilson made a meal of it, and, don’t forget, it was his wild antics which were responsible for Morgan being booked four minutes before his dismissal.”

Vic Crowe.

---

“I don’t remember anything.”

Bob Wilson.
