Liverpool score three hit and hope 30 yard shots that surprise everyone by hitting the back of the net - including 'keeper Jones - before Danny Blacnflower concedes his second own goal of the season but although fortune favours the hosts it is Villa's heaviest defeat of the 1953-54.
Ironically Villa take the lead and then go in all square at the break for the first time this season. All five of Liverpool's second half goals come in the final 20'.
Nothing can hide the fact however that Villa had now conceded ten goals in their last two games as they drop to 8th in the table.
Davy Walsh scores his eighth goal in eight games as they follow up their previous heaviest defeat of the season with an even heavier one.
Villa make it seven wins and five defeats in twelve division one games so far this season.
