Finally however it appears that time is being called on the misguided experiement as the clun confirms rumours that a contract has been agreed with Newcastle manager George Martin to become manager of Villa.
Winger Geoff Sellars made his second and final appearance for Villa before moving on to Altrincham in August 1951.
