Ron Jeffries

Player #429 for Aston Villa, Ronald John Jeffries, known as Ron Jeffries, played as a centre forward for the club. Ron played for Villa in 1950-51 appearing twice.

Ron was born in Hall Green, less than 7 miles from Villa Park, on 24 March 1930 and made his debut appearance for Villa on Saturday, 17 February 1951 at the age of 20.

Villa had signed Ron from Moor Green in December 1950 having been a much sought after player as a local amateur Ron joined Villa as a professional and as a well built centre forward with a good shot proved able to use his head in more ways than one.

Despite his promise Ron went on to make his second and final appearance for the club on Saturday, 10 March 1951 before moving on to Walsall.

Ron had played under Villa manager George Martin.
