MATCHDAY QUOTES
“It was one of the most controlled performances we have given all season.
“We have gone top on merit. It is no fluke.
“Whether we can stay there is a challenge to everybody at the club, from the directors, down to the supporters, and, most importantly, the players.
“But, I think, we are good enough and now we will have to see how we cope with it.
“I am sure we will come through because I have always believed we are genuine challengers and not pretenders.
Graham Taylor.

GRAHAM TAYLOR doubts that his new English League leaders Aston Villa will get any chance to rest on their laurels.
Villa, top for the first time since they won the championship in 1981, can stretch their lead over Liverpool to five points if they beat Wimbledon, at Villa Park on Saturday.
And manager Taylor, whose side took over the leadership after beating Tottenham 2-0 at White Hart Lane last night, has no fears about them becoming complacent.
"If you need to play a side that are going to make sure that you are going to have to work and scrap for everything, then Wimbledon are ideal, - explained Taylor.
"Our record against them is not very good at all. And Wimbledon have lost fewer games away from home than anyone. That tells you something. We will have to work very hard for everything we get if we get anything.
"But since this side came together, it has come through all the different types of challenge, in the main. It will be another type of challenge on Saturday but one I hope and expect them to come through."
Villa moved ahead of Liverpool in the championship race after recording their seventh League win in succession.
Goals from lan Ormondroyd, in the 51st minute, and David Platt, in the 67th minute, gave them victory against a Spurs side who rarely looked like winning. "We are top on merit. You cannot be in this position after 25 games by a fluke," added Taylor.
