ASTON VILLA kept their FA Cup - league title double dream alive by beating Blackburn 3-1 at Villa Park, but they were indebted to a second half penalty miss by Frank Stapleton. Daley destroyed Blackburn with his speed, and was later highly praised by Aston Villa's manager, Graham Taylor, who said: "Daley was obviously in the mood and he was our match-winner." After Stapleton's miss, Blackburn suffered further cruel luck when, in the last minute, David May put through his own goal following a hard cross from man-of-the-match Daley.
