MATCHDAY QUOTES
"I thought we did more than enough to have won comfortably.
“All they had were half chances and they took them. In fact they took two out of three of them.
"Andy Gray struggled for a lot of the match and I thought about taking him off for the extra-time period but he wanted to stay and I decided to let him in case it affected the other players.
"But this was a wonderful advertisement for football.
“We took a lot of stick after the Ipswich match on Saturday and I hope that the people who handed it out then will dish out the praise now.
“There were long periods in the game when it seemed that we must be on our way to Wembley—but there were also little spells in the game when the gremlins were not on our side.
“But it was a good effort by Rangers to pick themselves up after the penalty had been awarded and after John Burridge had produced that marvellous save."
Ron Saunders.
