Graham Turner's deeply questioned appointment proves to be the mis-step it was widely expected as Villa slump to 16th in the table and have now suffered defeats of 0-3, 0-5, 0-3 and 0-5 in twelve first division games as Turner's policy of insulting then discarding League and European Cup winning players proves the damaging folly it obviously was.
Graham Turner's Villa lose 0-5 for the second time in nine League games having also lost 0-3 twice.
This latest chastening defeat came a the hands of third from bottom Leicester City and made it four wins in twelve League games, whilst losing six. Whilst the number of defeats was enough of a concern, the nature of them was even more so and the fears appeared to be well founded for the many who had doubted the credentials of Turner to lead Villa on his appointment.
What they Said
“We deserved the rollocking [from Graham Turner] as we were a disgrace and never got in the game.”
Peter Withe.
“The amount of cash flying around here, both in salaries and perks, absolutely shocks me. But there is not enough pride - and I intend to change that.
Graham Turner.
Meanwhile, Dennis Mortimer, the League and European Cup winner jettisoned by Turner is a target for the top flight team who have just put five goals past Turner’s side.
