Allan Evans, playing up front because of David Geddis injury causing the striker to come off the field after 74โ, scored a late winner to compensate for his last gasp Ewood Park own goal that had meant a replay against third tier Blackburn.
Ron Saunders' Villa beat third division Blackburn at the second attempt in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
