Match Report
Villa lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in their first Under-18 Premier League match of 2026 on Wednesday afternoon, conceding a late goal away from home.
Coming out of the winter break, Richard Beale’s team played well against a Spurs side that dominated possession at their Hotspur Way training ground.
However, they ultimately fell to Reiss Elliott-Parris’ precise finish seven minutes before the end, finishing the game with a 12-match record and dropping to fifth in the Under-18 Premier League South.  
With the weekend match against Reading cancelled due to weather, Beale fielded a strong lineup in North London, with Fletcher Boyd and Alfie Lynskey starting in midfield behind Ollie Bindley and Markie Meade in attack.
The first half saw Spurs controlling most of the play, with Owen Asemota making a key save on Miracle Adewole’s deflected shot on 19 minutes.
Lynskey and Rodrigo Fortes had chances from free kicks, but Spurs remained active and looked more likely to score before halftime.
Adewole’s attempt deflected wide, and the first half ended without goals.
Tottenham started the second half with urgency, and within minutes, Elliott-Parris narrowly missed, then later had a goal disallowed for offside.
Tye Hall's shot was saved by Asemota, but Elliott-Parris scored from a close-range follow-up.
Oliver Boast also tested Asemota, while Villa threatened on the counterattack, with Meade’s shot hitting the crossbar late in the game.
Seven minutes before full time, Elliott-Parris scored the winning goal from Leon Myrtaj’s cross.
Despite a late surge by Villa, including a shot off the crossbar, they couldn't find an equaliser, and they left London with a defeat.

Up next is the FA Youth Cup tie at Fleetwood Town next Tuesday, as Villa look to progress to the fifth round.
