Villa claimed bragging rights in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday, thrashing Birmingham City at Bodymoor Heath.
It took the Young Lions just six minutes to open the scoring via Finlay Barnard, and they were two up three minutes later when Alfie Lynskey found the net.
Fletcher Boyd made it 3-0 before the 20-minute mark, and the goals kept coming in the second half for Villa.
Rodrigo Fortes and Jack McGrath chipped in with strikes before Markie Meade rounded off a tremendous display in stoppage time.
Victory over our city rivals moved Richard Beale’s team up to third in the Premier League South standings in their final league game of the year.
Villa made the perfect start to Derby Day when a clearance looped up to the edge of the box, with Barnard connecting sweetly with a volley and sending the ball low past Szymon Terenowicz to score in consecutive games.
Lynskey, who’d also been on the scoresheet in a 5-2 rout of Fulham last weekend, curled in a free-kick from just outside the box to net his eighth goal of the U18 Premier League campaign.
Leading 2-0 after nine minutes, the home side kept their foot on the accelerator and extended their lead after 19 minutes.
A cross from the left-hand side was turned home by Boyd from close range as Villa took a commanding hold of the match.
There looked to be little chance of Rodrigo Fortes scoring with a free-kick from a tight angle on 63 minutes, but the full-back sent a dipping effort under the crossbar and in at the far post to make it 4-0.
Things got even better eight minutes later when City failed to deal with a ball over the top, allowing McGrath to advance into the area and slot past Terenowicz.
A stunning sixth wrapped up the big win in stoppage time. Meade, facing away from the goal, took a touch to tee himself up for an acrobatic volley that flew into the back of the net.
