Jimmy was born in Earlstown on 1st June 1892 and he made his debut appearance for Villa on the 20th September 1919 aged 27.

Villa had signed Jimmy from home town club Earlstown FC and during his time with Villa won the 1919-20 FA Cup appearing in the 4th Round victory away at Tottenham Hotspur.

Jimmy made 13 league appearances that season helping Villa finish in the top 10 and playing his last game for Villa on the 17th April 1920.

Jimmy played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Jimmy passed away in Nuneaton in April 1937 aged just 44.
