CHRIS Kiwomya shrugged off the effects of flu to leave Aston Villa feeling sick as Ipswich Town moved through to the Coca-Cola Cup quarter-finals last night. Kiwomya provided the perfect tonic with Town's 57th minute winner in this tight, tense replay to earn Ipswich a home clash with Sheffield Wednesday. The deadly striker headed home from close range after Jason Dozzell had powered Neil Thompson's corner goalwards. It was his 11th goal of the season and his third in this tussle with Villa. He scored both of Ipswich's goals at Villa Park when Ron Atkinson's side felt they had thrown away a great chance of moving into the last eight. The match was dominated by a midfield battle as both sides tried to establish a grip but it was defences who dominated. Villa suffered two blows first when first top-scorer Dalian Atkinson was ruled out with a groin strain and then 15 minutes into the game his replacement Cyrille Regis hobbled off to be replaced by Dwight Yorke. But it was the loss of Atkinson which proved the most damaging, particularly as he has a happy habit of scoring against his old clubs. The 13-goal striker hit Villa's double in the first meeting and would have fancied his chances of maintaining his scoring run against his former outfit. Without him Villa looked lightweight and lacking in ideas up front. Their two best chances fell to £2.3 million Dean Saunders.
