Richmond Davis

Richmond was born in Walsall less than ten miles from Villa’s current ground in April 1861 and made his debut as a 24 year old on 17th October 1885.
Villa had signed Richmond from Walsall Swifts.
Richmond played all of the 10 games in Villa’s victorious 1886-87 FA Cup campaign, including the final at the Kennington Oval that hosted the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. Richmond scored 3 goals on the way to the final.
Richmond retired from football due to a serious knee injury.
Richmond played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Richmond passed away in 1934 in Birmingham aged 73.
