Peter Dowds

Player #86 for Aston Villa, Peter Dowds played as a midfielder for the club in a position that was then known as a wing half.

Peter represented Villa in the 1892-93 season making 20 appearances for the club.

Peter was born in Johnstone, Renfrewshire on 24 August 1871 and made his debut as a 21 year old on 5th September 1892.

Villa had signed Peter from Glasgow Celtic and he contributed 19 games to help Villa to a 4th place league finish in 1892-93.

Peter’s final game for Villa came on the 4th April 1893 before
moving on to Stoke.

Peter played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Peter passed away following a chest complaint in Glasgow on 2nd September 1895 aged just 24.
