Albert Woolley

Albert represented Villa between 1892-93 and 1894-95 making a total of 24 appearances.
Albert was born in Hockley, less than three miles from the current Villa ground, in June 1870 and made his debut as a 22 year old on 25th March 1893.
Villa had signed Albert from Park Mills FC and he went on to help Villa secure the League Championship in 1893-94 with 14 appearances.
Albert’s final game for Villa came on the 20th October 1894 aged 24 after which he moved on to Derby County.
Albert played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Albert passed away from pneumonia in Manchester on the 3rd February 1896 aged just 25.
