Match Report:
Villa made it three consecutive wins in the Under-18 Premier League after surviving a second-half scare to beat Leicester City at Bodymoor Heath.
Two goals in the first four minutes got the hosts off to a fantastic start before Charlie Lutz made it 3-0 in 15 minutes.
Leicester got back into the game in the second half via strikes from Joshua King and Reece Evans to set up an intriguing final 20 minutes.
But any doubts about the result were put to bed in the 89[^th] minute when Wilson completed his hat-trick.
With the game less than two minutes old, Wilson showed his predatory instincts when the ball fell his way in the box, and he looped a header over the ‘keeper.
His second goal followed swiftly when he raced onto Jayden Barber’s ball over the top and, after settling himself, dispatched the ball calmly.
The chances kept coming for the home side before they increased their lead via Lutz, who headed Finley Munroe’s long ball over the stranded ‘keeper from the edge of the box.
Leicester had failed to seriously test Alex Hammond in the first 45 minutes, but they beat the ‘keeper soon after the restart when King slipped beyond Villa’s defence and clipped the ball past Hammond.
Wilson spurned a great chance to net his third before a short back pass was pounced upon by Evans, who rounded the goalie and slotted home.
Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in the final minutes when Munroe’s wicked, inswinging free-kick was turned in at the back post by Wilson.
